For almost 5 years now, Krista has volunteered countless hours to help undocumented youth in Washington State including mentoring undocumented youth for scholarship opportunities and helping stop the deportation of more than one DREAMer.
Now Krista wants to create a website to coordinate with regional immigrant groups to organize forums and webinars so DREAMers can work and live without the fear of deportation under the new Dream Relief policy.
Because DREAMers have limited access to scholarships, and no access to grants or loans to assist in college tuition, the Marigold grant will allow Krista to develop a database to support deferred action , scholarship opportunities, collect student stories, and conduct outreach to educate people about the DREAM Act and undocumented students.
